The city of Pompano Beach and Broward County Sheriff’s Office fed close to 1000 families in need on Thursday. Local churches, clubs and city council members came together to lift the burden of food disparity off of families’ shoulders. “I’m always proud of my city,” Mayor Rex Hardin said. Each family is given a 40 pound box of food that should last them about a week.

The Strange and Unusual Oddities Parlor presented their 5th Annual Philadelphia Alternative Taxidermy Competition at the Ruba Club in Northern Liberties. Contestants of all skill levels were able to show off their works and tell the judges a little about their piece. Once the doors opened you could not find an empty seat in the house. Everyone gathered at the stage to look at all the unique works.
